Across Africa, Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo had the biggest number registered to vote. A total of 797 were expected to vote.
Elsewhere, Uganda's capital Kampala registered a reasonable number.
82 nationals turned up to vote.
The voters are optimistic that the process will help South Africa make some gains.
