June 13, 2019 Long Island Metro Fishing Report with Fred Golofaro

June 13, 2019 Long Island Metro Fishing Report with Fred Golofaro Weekly fishing reports online at

Offshore anglers are feasting on the current run of bluefin tuna, and also finding some excellent action with bigeyes, yellowfin, mahi and white marlin at the edge. That hot striper bite along Fire Island that produced numerous cows into the 50-pound class and even a 60 pounder, carried through the middle of this past week before fading out towards the end of the week as the fish worked their way further east.

The best fluke fishing right now is on the East End in Montauk and around Shelter Island. Porgy action has spread through Montauk waters, Cherry Harbor and Long Island Sound. If ling are your thing, they are on South Shore wrecks in bucket filling numbers. Everyone is counting down to the sea bass opener on June 23 as anglers continue to be frustrated by the numbers of big sea bass being caught and returned as bycatch.
