I never in my wildest dreams thought I would speak at an Eagle Forum event. Growing up my mom screamed at the TV every time Gayle Ruzicka, the president of the Utah Eagle Forum was interviewed by the news. After meeting Gayle, I am humbled by her kindness. I have found members of the Utah Eagle Forum to be compassionate, caring people. Though we don't agree on everything, I am deeply thankful that they are standing up for children and fighting to protect gender dysphoric kids from being denied appropriate mental health services and given dangerous and harmful medical treatment. This forum was the first time in decades that I have given a public talk. I am introverted and have social anxiety but I feel a moral imperative to share my experience of childhood gender dysphoria and help others understand that their is no such thing as a trans child, just children with gender dysphoria, the vast majority of whom will have their gender dysphoria resolve if allowed to naturally progress through childhood. There are some who do not think that liberals and conservatives should work together, however, I believe liberals and conservatives should always try to work together.
