Brooklyn shooting: At least one dead and 11 injured in gun attack near playground One person has died and at least 11 are injured - including a child - after a mass shooting at a party near a playground in Brooklyn.  Police and EMS response teams rushed to the scene at Brownsville Playground in New York City after gunfire reportedly broke out at 10pm.  A block party - called the Old Timers Day - was being held outside at the time, with many locals out celebrating.  Several victims were rushed to nearby hospitals, but their conditions were unknown.  According to the New York Post, one shooter - still at large - is thought to be behind the attack.  A 66-year-old witness told the paper: “I heard shots and I ducked.  “When I stuck my head up, and the smoke cleared, it was pure pandemonium,”  The person shot dead is said to be male and aged 38.  Video from the scene showed a chaotic scene and a large crowd of people.  Police were trying to move people away from the scene.  New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said: "We had a terrible shooting in Brownsville tonight that shattered a peaceful neighborhood event.
