The ITBP has released the last footage of mountaineers killed in avalanche. At least eight mountaineers died attempting to climb Mount Nanda Devi in May. The peak is the second-highest mountain in India. One victim shot the footage a day before the deadly avalanche. The ITBP recovered seven bodies after a 20-day-long rescue operation. The rescue took place at a height of nearly 21,000 feet. Four surviving climbers who strayed from the victims alerted ITBP. Rescuers had to set up base camps on the mountain.
