Clara Vale Level Crossing

Clara Vale Level Crossing Tuesday July 2 2019 at 15.15. The 14.30 Sunderland to Hexham (15.41) train. This is 2.5 miles west of Addison LC on the Tyne Valley line. The industrial area has now been left behind and replaced by the neatly mown lawns of Ryton Golf Club. Annual membership fee £549. Presumably the occasional sliced golf shot bounces on the roadway, goes over the 4 foot fence and ends up on the railway lines. There isn't any anti-trespass boarding at the crossing so it is possible to rescue golf balls. Strangely, at the point where the road to the club house leaves the tracks, there is a personal gate in the fence. There isn't a foot crossing so its not clear who it is for. Six trains an hour trundle along the tracks and unusually they all start and finish at different places.
