Marielle Jakobsons is a composer, sound designer and new media artist with over 10 years of experience in the education and gaming industry. At Embody she is in charge of developing software and artist tools for personalized spatial audio experiences. Previously she served as an audio director at his predecessor Electronic Arts and worked on the sound design, composition, tools and technical design of AAA-smash hit The Sims.
In Jakobsons' session at CEDEC, attendees will learn why personalized HRTFs provide a significantly improved experience over generic HRTFs when listening on headphones. Attendees will learn how to use SpatialMix—an audio plugin suite for DAWs—to create tantalizing sounds in all directions. Design considerations and approaches will be discussed for using personalized HRTFs to enhance audio design and create a more immersive experience.
