Whats up guys it’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and Taylor Swift is now tied with Madonna for the most Top 20 hits on Billboard’s hot 100 chart
With Lover debuting at number 19 of the Hot 100 chart, Taylor now has 44 songs that have charted in the top 20
Which makes her tied with another pop star sensation – Madonna
They both have 44 songs in Billboard’s Top 20 hits
And they both have the 4th most top 20 hits ever
Behind Drake, Lil Wayne, and Elvis Presley
So that also means they’re tied as the women with the most top 20 hits ever
And what an honor it is to share a title with a legend like Madonna – the woman who shaped pop music to what it is today
Madonna’s chart topping hits range almost 30 years – starting in 1984 with Lucky Star, Borderline, and Holiday
And span all the way to 2012 with Give Me All Your Luvin’ featuring Nicki Minaj and MIA
That’s just one of the songs that Nicki and Madonna did together during their careers
Taylor, on the other hand, had her first 6 top 20 songs in 2008
Those were Fearless, Change, You’re Not Sorry, Teardrops on My Guitar, White Horse, and Our Song
Some of these were from her debut album “Taylor Swift” while others were from “Fearless”
Taylor has 5 number 1 hit songs so far –and most of them are from 1989.
Surprised? Honestly, I’m not.
Her number 1 songs are Shake it Off, Blank Space, Bad Blood, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and Look What You Made Me Do
It took her just shy of 11 years to get all 44 of her top 20 hits
Drake, who holds the most top 20s has 60 of them.
And he got his first in 2009 – which means he did it even quicker than Taylor
And while Taylor has 5 songs that went #1, Madonna has 12 of them
With Like a Virgin being the longest charting #1 of her career
But Taylor and Madonna also tie for another billboard accomplishment as well – they both have the most #2 hit songs ever.
They both have 6 songs each that have peaked at #2 in the hot 100
And I gotta say, with Lover’s success so far, these numbers are only going to go up for Taylor
Lover had the most successful first week in sales of any album this year – and it accomplished that in just 1 day
The record number of presales that the album had helped accomplish this feat – but regardless it was a big feat to meet
Before Lover, the Jonas Brothers held the record at 357,000. Taylor absolutely blew that out of the water on the first day with 450,000 copies sold.
Madonna also released Madam X this year, which didn’t add any numbers to her chart

Another record that Taylor Swift broke with Lover?
She’s now the highest paid woman in music
And when we say she’s the highest paid
We mean it’s not even a competition
Taylor made 185 million dollars over the past year
The runner up, Beyonce, made 81 million
And she had a Disney movie and everything
Most of Tay’s money over the past year came from the reputation tour
But album sales from Lover helped catapult her finances way past the top
So yeah, Taylor Swift is one of the most decorated artists of the century. That much is not up for debate.
And she looks like she’s not gonna stop anytime soon
