ABOUT JAINA JASLYN. (That's me!)
I'm a mid-30's transgender girl from California. In February 2019 I went through a terrible time in life that involved break downs, burn-outs, isolation, full-system meltdowns, and addiction. I was also dealing with the struggle of gender dysphoria and the resulting soul-searching and full-life evaluation regarding my gender identity over the years. In June that year, everything came to a halt as I was forced to face every single one of my struggles head on. Miraculously, not only did I 'get through' that harsh season, but my mental and physical health transformed seemingly overnight. I re-gained strength, courage, and confidence. I opened up to my friends and family, sharing my deepest, darkest secrets that I had kept sacred and hidden prior. As a result, I was able to get my act together (including sobriety) and embrace my gender identity as female.
This YouTube series, Just Jaina, is yet another act of stepping out into the unknown. You see, I have always been fearful, timid, shy, and reclusive. I feared cameras and talking into them. My crippling lifelong voice dysphoria prevented me from really expressing myself. That was one of the many things that changed about me.
Now, months later (as of writing) I am a NEW WOMAN. I have fresh new confidence and hundreds of wild and crazy stories to share with the world. Most of all, I have a heart and passion for sharing my wisdom and insight with others for their benefit. That might include you! My only hope is that my silly antics helps put a smile on your face. And I look forward to sharing my journey with the transgender community as well as supportive allies for transgender community members.
OH! And I began hormone therapy (HRT) in July 2019! I am really looking forward to this transition, and I hope that you're able to see me blossom over the coming weeks, months, and years.
