The year is 2036. The video game Metro Exodus is set after the events of Metro Last Light, on a post-apocalyptic Earth that has been devastated by a devastating nuclear war. The story takes from the ending of Metro Last Light's "Redemption" ending. Similar to the previous two entries in the series, the player must assume the role of Artyom, who flees Moscow to a long journey in search for a new place he can call home. Together with his allies he travels to the far East, on a locomotive called the "Aurora".
In the third entry of the series, the plot brings us a quarter-century after nuclear war devastated the earth, when a few thousand survivors still fight for survival beneath the ruins of Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, struggling against poisoned elements, mutated beasts and paranormal horrors, all these along a painful civil war. The game features stunning graphics, good combat mechanics, upgrading options and each chapter takes the player through different terrain, a new story and a different season of the year-long travel.
As Artyom, you must lead a band of Spartan Rangers on this incredible journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East.
Metro Exodus is indeed an epic, story-driven FPS with a bright mix of combat, stealth, exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. Inspired by the novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky, the video game lets you explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels of a thrilling story-line that spans an year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter. And guess what, the ending is not what you might expect but splendidly correlates with the story-line.
