Saaho Movie Review Prabhas Bumper Offer To Saaho Director Sujeeth
Saaho is an Indian action thriller film written and directed by Sujeeth, produced by UV Creations and T-Series. The film stars Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, and has been shot simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Marking Prabhas' debut in Hindi and Shraddha Kapoor's debut in South Indian cinema, the film has been produced with a budget of 350 crore. It has been shot with IMAX cameras. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters and IMAX on 30 August 2019. The film has been made on a budget of 350 crores. The film was shot in Austria, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Romania and other parts of Europe. Principal photography began in August 2017. Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff, Lal, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Mandira Bedi were roped in along with the leads, Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor. A large part of the budget was spent to shoot the action scenes in the film. International stunt choreographer, Kenny Bates, had been roped in to choreograph the action scenes. The first schedule of the film, which was in Hyderabad, was completed by October 2017. The second schedule of the film began in December 2017 at Ramoji Film City

Saaho Review: You probably know the answer to the above question, but writer-director Sujeeth takes you through a maze of twists and turns before he gets there. Pegged as India's biggest action thriller, 'Saaho' gets into the action mode pretty early on. The film begins with signature wide angles of massive structures and grim looking men, who mean serious business. All through the first half, the narrative travels through cities trying to connect high stake robberies in Mumbai and the search of a missing black box that is the key to a fortune. Enter film's leading man Prabhas with a loud, high octane fight scene that sets the stage for many more such confrontations. With his towering screen presence, Prabhas fits the bill in this larger than life role. However, his 'Bahubali' charm is somewhat missing here, as he looks a tad tired. His dialogue delivery is decidedly slow, but works for most part as his character is layered and always keeps the viewer guessing. Shraddha Kapoor looks glamorous, but her character is poorly sketched. Introduced as a tough talking cop, she soon becomes a liability who often needs to be saved rather than she saving the world. Even the chemistry between the lead pair is missing.
Among the many villains, Chunkey Pandey stands out with a very convincing portrayal of his evil character. The rest of them come off as mere caricatures, who fail to make an impact. The film's music is a chartbuster but the untimely placement of songs only add to an already long runtime. Attempts to infuse humour fall flat as none of the jokes land.
'Saaho' surely delivers well as an action extravaganza with an adrenaline pumping climax. The film's second half picks pace, but is marred by a weak narrative that requires constant suspension of disbelief. Also, the special effects and CGI often lack the finesse that a film mounted on such a grand scale deserved.
Overall, 'Saaho' is quite the potboiler that fires in all directions in an attempt to entertain the audience. But with a weak storyline, too many twists and juvenile execution, it ends up being a missed opportunity.
