Everybody has a love/hate relationship with their seam ripper. Even as you get better at sewing and quilting, it still sees use as our standards rise. But don't waste time un-sewing by pick, pick, picking when you can learn how to use a seam ripper on many seams. 1) Use a sharp seam ripper. 2) It works better with cotton threads than polyester, one of several reasons I piece my quilts with Aurifil. 3) Keep the seam flat/straight. 4) Don't force it hard, clean out the threads in the seam ripper.
