Stadia won’t be Wireless at Launch?? Intel Multi-GPU spotted!

Let’s get started with Google. Stadia is now less than a month away, In fact, the service launches on November 19th. Problem is, it looks like people who preordered might be a little disappointed, and for more than one reason.

First is the controller. Besides the fact that I don’t like the 2 joysticks at the bottom form factor, the stadia Wireless controller… won’t be wireless for everyone at the start. If you play on your TV using a Chromecast Ultra, then you connect wirelessly, but if you’re on PC, using a tablet or a phone, you’ll have to use the USB C port. This is a little surprising given the whole point of Stadia and its controller was to be able to seamlessly switch from one device to another. Plus, connecting a controller via a wire to your phone? Are you serious Google?

The next issue is availability. Google made it clear that if you wanted to play on Stadia Pro, you would have to pre-order the founder’s edition which includes, a stadia controller, a Chromecast ultra, first dibs on your username, and 3 months for both you and someone else. They then sold out of founders edition and started the premiere edition, which comes with the same thing except for the naming priority and choice of controller color. Well, if you preordered either bundles, you might not even receive it on Day one. Especially if you pre-ordered later. Google told the verge that both bundles will be delivered within the first 2 weeks of launch and that they would be shipped in order of preorders. And since the 3 month passes for the service will be delivered with the actual hardware, some might have to wait up to 2 weeks to actually play.
