WARRIOR Breast Cancer Yoga Series: Mindful Strength + Mobility

WARRIOR Breast Cancer Yoga Series: Mindful Strength + Mobility I created this practice because my friend shared that she had to leave a yoga class recently because it was too much on her arms. She had her lymph nodes removed in her right armpit area as part of her breast cancer treatment. She can’t lift more than 5 pounds or overly activate the pressure in her arm because it causes pain and increases the chances of lymphedema. I created this practice to offer space to add more strength, while being mindful of not putting too much pressure in the arms - so no down dogs or planks in this class. I move slowly into each posture and offer space to add or take away as needed.

Breast Cancer Warriors - READ THIS FIRST:
- If you are currently doing radiation or healing from a surgery I do NOT recommend this practice.
- If you are currently in your chemo treatment - this practice may not be appropriate - be sure to honor your energy levels and healing progress.
- If you have healed from surgery this practice may be appropriate - take it slow and don’t force through any pain - use this practice as a guide and allow yourself to move in and out of postures as needed.
- To be mindful of those that had lymph nodes removed as part of their treatment there aren’t any down dogs, planks or other weight bearing postures on the arms.
- Mobility - take your time with your healing and don’t push through any pain

TIPS to enhance your practice:

- MUSIC - add some vibes in the background or try out my playlist on Spotify:
- PROPS - I recommend blocks or a chair or a wall for support
- OILS - try some uplifting doTERRA oils to diffuse or use topically: Citrus Bliss, Elevation, Peppermint
