What EXACTLY is COPPA and how will COPPA Change Youtube? Can your Channel Survive? COPPA is coming to Youtube.
How did it happen and what is the COPPA Rule really all about?
What can you do to save your channel?
These are my thoughts on what I read on the COPPA laws as provided (in a link) from Youtube. - I'm not a lawyer, but I will be showing and quoting the documents from Youtube and the FTC from the links below.

Help us on Patreon

If you have a Patreon Page, please have a look at the changes below that I have made on mine. Hopefully you can see what I am doing here and you can adapt this format to your page. Again, I am not a lawyer, so I could be wrong here. Seek proper legal aid. this is just my opinion and my suggestion. Do with it as you will, it's up to you and good luck!

Changes to our Patreon Page

In order for Monster Hobbies to be compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA), and to stop the online data and information from our younger audience with their own personal online account information being collected and used by unscrupulous third party companies that are in no way associated with Monster Hobbies, you must be a patron at the $1.00 level to watch and leave a comment on this video.

Why this change?

Simply put, any young viewer who wishes to watch this video on their parent or guardian's online device using their (the child's) account would not have access to the Paypal account needed to become a Patreon. Under the law, you need to be 18+ in order to sign the legal and binding document to open a Paypal account.

By setting all my videos to the $1.00 minimum Patronage, I can try to reduce the chances of being in violation to the COPPA rules. This change may inadvertently block out some viewers from our Patreon Page, however, it will protect the younger viewer's online data and make this page a safe place for all people to watch videos, leave comments and interact with Monster Hobbies based on our videos that they watch.

If a child wants to watch our videos, please note that they are Family Friendly.
I own a business that wishes to encourage all ages by sharing hobby tips that will help them improve their skills in S.T.E.M. projects. I am not out to harm anyone in any way.

Children, if these videos on our Patreon Page interest you, please ask your parents/guardian if you can watch this video together on their adult's device at the $1.00 level.
Parents, you can always drop your patronage at any time.
All data collected is dropped at that time.
Thank you for your understanding.
