Sugu Valley in the Kagua-Erave District Southern Highlands Province has been ridden with tribal fight since March this year affecting the district as a whole and access to Erave. With constant roadblock and tribal fighting in the thick Jungles of the district, Police and PNGDF have been unable to contain the fighting.
But there may be hope, a cease-fire and Peace ceremony was held in Port Moresby to begin the peace process that will finish off at Kagua Station.
