M.D.|Ph.D. student Erik Hasenoehrl: Deciding to Become a Physician-Scientist M.D./Ph.D. student Erik Hasenoehrl shares what motivates him to pursue the long and rigorous course to become a physician-scientist at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Erik’s research focuses on developing antibiotics to treat mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB). The goal of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at Einstein, one of the first to be funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is to integrate graduate training in scientific research and clinical medicine in order to accelerate the path to improving human health.
