Prime Time, Dec 26, 2019 | Are College Students Being Intimidated Against Partipating In Protests?

On Prime Time, Ravish Kumar asks whether college students are being targeted using various methods of intimidation in order to make them abstain from protesting. According to reports parents of students from Nirma University who participated in protests against Citizenship Act in Ahmedabad were sent messages that said that the 'police and Information Bureau' had taken their details from the university, and appealed to counsel their children against participating in protests. While addressing an event in Delhi, army chief Bipin Rawat criticised university students for "leading masses of crowds to carry out arson and violence". Several students of Banaras Hindu University in Uttar Pradesh have been jailed for protesting against CAA. (Audio in Hindi)
