UN Rapporteur Recommendations on Police Sexualized Violence

UN Rapporteur Recommendations on Police Sexualized Violence This is the second video about the report on Canada by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, its Causes and Consequences (UNSRVAW), Dubravka Simonivic.
This video focuses specifically on her observations and recommendations on police and correction officer sexualized violence against Indigenous women and girls in Canada.

Here is the link to the UNSRVAW report mentioned in the video (click on mission to Canada):

The report was released just weeks after the final report of the National Inquiry into Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls which found Canada guilty of both historic and ongoing genocide against Indigenous women and girls. Here is the link:

You can also read or download a copy of the joint submission made by myself, the Feminist Alliance for International Action (FAFIA) and Canada Without Poverty (CWP) to the National Inquiry into Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls which has a section on police sexualized violence against Indigenous women and girls.
