A Fantastic Four fan has depicted Hollywood power couple, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, as Marvel's Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman. Earlier this year Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in a $71 billion super-deal that brought everyone from Deadpool and the X-Men to the Fantastic Four under the Marvel umbrella. Now that Marvel has acquired the rights to Fox’s roster of comic book heroes, fans are having a lot of fun speculating about who will inhabit the wide variety of superheroes now available to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Actors and actresses are often fan cast for certain roles based upon characteristic similarities to prospective roles. Because they are one of the most successful and charismatic husband-wife duos in Hollywood, many Fantastic Four fans think Krasinski and Blunt would be a perfect fit for a future franchise.
Superhero team-ups have gained a massive amount of popularity in comic book movie adaptations, starting with X-Men in 2000 and hitting a cultural climax recently with Avengers: Endgame. One of the first team-ups in comic book history was that of the Fantastic Four, with the original lineup consisting of the Thing, Human Torch, Mr. Fantastic, and Invisible Woman. Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Susan Storm (Invisible Woman) quickly became one of the most iconic couples in comic book history. After Richards, Ben Grimm (the Thing), and Johnny Storm (the Human Torch) go to space and receive cosmic upgrades, the couple eventually gets married and has multiple children. It seems only natural that fans want two of the most popular and talented thespians in Hollywood (who also happen to be married) to portray these characters. Many celebrities have been imagined in these roles, but the fantastic pairing of Krasinski and Blunt have been the fandom's top choice for many years now.
