USMLE Overview for Filipino IMGs (FAQs + Expenses)

USMLE Overview for Filipino IMGs (FAQs + Expenses) Can Filipino doctors pursue residency and fellowship training and eventually be licensed to practice in the US? YES! Here's an overview of the USMLE process.

Some definition of terms:
USMLE - United States Medical Licensure Exam
IMG - International Medical Graduate
US IMG - US citizen or Green card holder who graduated med school outside the US (ex. Caribbean, Canadian, Philippine med schools)
Non-US IMG - Non US Citizens (will require J1 or H1B visa) who graduated med school outside the US
FMG - Foreign Medical Graduate, often used interchangeably with IMG

My profile / credentials:

No research, no publications
More than 6 months of work experience as general physician in the Philippines
