Lulu Belle & Scotty (Scott Wiseman, the song’s composer) introduced this country-pop standard in the 1944 film “Sing, Neighbor, Sing.” Autry’s was the first version recorded for commercial release and it climbed to #3 on Billboard’s weekly country music chart in late 1946.
