Power Side Steps|Bed Step | How To | 2020 Ram 1500 DT

The power side steps on your 2020 Ram 1500 DT allow for easier entry and exit to and from the vehicle. The bed step allows for easier entry and exit to and from the pickup bed.

If equipped, your Ram truck’s Power Side Steps will extend for easier entry and exit. In Auto Mode, the steps will deploy when either the driver’s or passenger’s side door is opened. In “Store” mode, the steps will stay in the retracted position. In either mode, the steps can be deployed… or retracted manually through the touchscreen.
The power side steps will retract automatically if vehicle speed exceeds 5 MPH or 8 km/h.

Your Ram truck may be equipped with an extendable bed step on the driver’s side of the rear bumper for easier entry and exit into the truck bed.

To extend the bed step, place your foot on the protruding foot tab located on the left edge of the bed step, and push toward the rear. A small amount of force will release the spring load, and extend the bed step out and away from the tailgate. The step will extend quickly, so stand in a position that will avoid contact with it as it extends.
To retract the step, use your foot to push it forward, and store it back under the bumper.
