Princess Anne to become First Female Captain-General of Royal Marines

Princess Anne is set to make royal history by becoming the first female captain-general of the Royal Marines, taking over from her nephew Prince Harry.

It’s expected the Princess Royal will add to her military appointments in the Spring of 2020 when the Duke of Sussex officially steps back as a senior member of the royal family.

Prince Harry has held the role as captain-general of the Royal Marines for two years.

The Duke of Sussex took over in December 2017 when Prince Phillip retired from royal duties.
